Laila Harré’s selection as Internet Party leader was a bit of a surprise to many. She isn’t exactly the first person you would think of when you are asked about a tech savvy political leader. She has proven this again today:
This just proves how unused to technology she is. It also has to call into question her political judgement. Instead of emailing or texting Kim Dotcom or Callum, she felt the need to broadcast to her 3300+ followers her inability to use the medium. Now I know that some settings in Twitter, and other web based services, can be hidden in less than obvious places, but when you are leading a party that is trying to brand itself as having an understanding of technology that other parties don’t, this doesn’t really help sell that image.
