I blogged the other day about Claudette Hauiti not updating her Twitter profile to reflect the fact that she is no longer an MP. This morning I got a tip off about another former National MP who hasn’t updated their Twitter Bio. So I thought I would use it as a reason to check as many of the outgoing MPs Twitter bios as I could. I have used this list as my reference, plus Labour MPs who did not return on the list. If I have left anyone off, let me know. Accounts that have been closed are disregarded.

The MPs from smaller parties have done well. It is the bigger parties whose ex MPs have not done so well. 67% of the ex Nat MPs (including Claudette) I have checked haven’t updated. 33% of the ex Labour MPs I have checked haven’t done it either, however, just like Claudette had, both Carol and Moana have been tweeting since the election. I doubt they would still be using business cards or letter head claiming to be MPs, why would their Twitter profiles be any different. We are over a past the election.
